Hard Work

I grew up in a remote area under my parent. I watched how dedicated and committed my parent was to their occupation those days. My Dad being a very hardworking man went extra length to makesure none of his children lack the appropriate education in other to sustain and navigate the challenges of life smoothly. Hardwork is something my parent Instilled in me and I am glad that they did. I was also very opportune to watch my dad making farm those days just to make sure we don’t starve. Seeing him struggling this ways made me extremely determined to go extra mile in the journey of life and to put smiles on his face. Challenges from critics far and near also spackled my instinct and hence I couldn’t bear the challenges possed but the only way and option I had was to makesure I come out successful and better than them with my results. Today, it’s all a reality!

ATITUDE

Having a good positive attitude is also helpful to be successful. Complaining about your boss , your job or the people you support will not get you very far in life. As one of my Bosses once said; we all need to get the trash out once in a while. He followed that up that you don’t complain when doing it. Every so often you will be stuck with something less than desirable , make sure you maintain a positive attitude . I have worked with many people who have a poor attitude about work and life. They never seem happy and are negative about most things . They are a drain to be around eventually that negative attitude will catch up with you and you might be out of a job or be stuck in the job you are in . In also generally do not like being around negative people , they can drain too much of my energy. Don’t get me wrong, everyone has bad days with a bad attitude , but don’t let it be everyday . Not only will it eventually lead to bad things such as health problems, it could could limit what you do in life.

SET GOALS

One of the items I have learned from the numerous books I have read on success is goal settings. If you don’t set goals , how do you know where you are going ?
When setting goals, makesure that you write them down . It seems that the simple act of writing down goals helps you achieve them. Everyone has different advice on this , but I have found to be successful is setting 90 day, 1 year, 5 year and long time goals . What has amazed me is that if I should look back on the goals I have written down, I have achieved many of them . The simple step of writing them down puts it in your subconscious mind. You also need to pick a time to review and update your goals

Set Goals

One of the items I have learned from the numerous books I have read on success is goal settings. If you don’t set goals, how do you know where you are going?

When setting goals, make sure that you write them down. It seems that the simple act of writing down goals helps you achieve them. Everyone has different advice on this, but what I have found to be successful is setting 90 day, 1 year, 5 year and then long-term goals. What has amazed me if I look back on the goals I have written down, I have achieved many of them. The simple step of writing them down puts it in your subconscious mind.

You also need to pick a time to review and update your goals. Based on what you want to do or where you are at in life, your goals may change.

If you want to be successful, you will need to set goals.

Take Risks And Have Faith

Sometimes you need to take a risk to get ahead. Take the path less traveled. Take on a new task at work that you might not know much about. Take a new job or position that will stretch your abilities. Everyone has a different tolerance for risk, but if you want to get ahead, you need to take risks and have faith that those risks will turn out.

Also, make sure you have a plan B if those risks do not work out.

Build Up at least 3 months of Financial Reserve

Building up a financial reserve is important. I would say 3 months is the minimum, but if you can get to 6 months, that is even better. Why? If your company happens to downsize or suddenly go out of business, have the Financial reserve will give you the time to find the right position as opposed to finding anything or a job that you dislike.

If you want to take a risk, having a Financial Reserve will help you feel more comfortable taking that risk. Finally, I feel that being fiscally responsible is key to being successful.

To Sum it up

These are a few of many qualities that help make someone successful. If I had to focus on just two on this list, it would be hard work and goal settings.

In my career, the one item I have noticed is the people around me who have worked hard, are happy in life and are very successful. Hard workers have overcome obstacles such as not having a 4-year college degree or not having the perfect skill set for a new position. They also move past more educated and qualified people due to how hard they work.

Most hard working people also set goals. You have to map out where you want to go. Life has a way of getting away from you if you are not careful. Setting goals helps you get to the destination you want, rather than drifting.
